5 things I’ve Been Loving Lately

1. La Croix Blackberry Cucumber Sparkling Water

Ah, the elusive La Croix Blackberry Cucumber flavor…

FINALLY! My most current expedition to Target was a success. It’s never been in stock when I’ve checked before, but this last time, miracle of all miracles, it was! I identified four boxes on the shelf at the Novato Target yesterday, but actually, by the time I’d left, there were only two, because ideal after I rolled up, a hipster-looking dude grabbed one.

If you ever come across a case, get hold of it. They’re in high demand, and they’re so, SO good. They aren’t really sweet at all. just refreshing and light with great notes of blackberry and cucumber.

2. NARS Madly Blush

When in doubt, NARS Madly Blush.

Yes, you can quote me on that, and it’s 100% true. I’ve been wearing this peachy beige blush all week long because the dang thing opts for everything. Seriously! Doesn’t matter what I’m doing with eye shadow or lip color; whatever it is, NARS Madly blush works.

3. try this creative lip combo (with Clever): MAC Patentpolish in creative with MAC In control pro Longwear Lip Pencil

This was one of those delighted accidents I inadvertently stumbled upon. MAC In control pro Longwear Lip Pencil + MAC Patentpolish Lip Pencil in creative = a deep rosy coral combo that looks faboo with neutral eyes and winged liner (it’s what I’m wearing in the pics in this post).

4. Frosted Strawberry Pop Tarts

I feel a little guilty when I eat them because they’re high in sugar and processed, but damn! — they’re so tasty. I like mine toasted with the edges ever-so-slightly burnt, but El Hub prefers them raw, which is very odd to me.

He also practically inhales them. I hear him open the little foil bag, and then it’s like the Cookie Monster for a few seconds and they’re gone.

5. Madonna’s Immaculate Collection

I dug this out the other day, and even after not listening to the album for years, I still know all the words to every song! If you’re a Madge fan, lemme know 1) your top 3 Madonna songs of all time (I know this is hard) and 2) your all-time favorite Madonna video. Let’s go over the wonder that is Her Madge-esty.

5 things I’ve Been Loving Lately

just a few things I’ve been into as of late
1. The eight-minute increment

OK, this is my new trick for motivating myself when I don’t want to do something — setting a timer for eight minutes, and then focusing on one thing for that short chunk of time. I don’t know what it is about eight minutes, but that’s my sweet spot. five is too short, 10 is too long, but eight is the perfect, snack-sized chunk of time!

2. The “Encanto” film soundtrack

“Encanto” is a new Disney film with music by Songwriter and actor Lin-Manuel Miranda (you might recognize his name from the musical “Hamilton”). Anyway, it’s Connor’s new favorite Disney flick, and she listens to the soundtrack morning, midday and night. The music is very catchy, and even though I’ve actually never seen the film in its entirety, I already know many of the song lyrics.

I also know that we don’t talk about Bruno, no, no, no. WE DON’T TALK about BRUNO!

3. Monochromatic outfits

Ya know, I’ve read for years that wearing the same color from head to toe can make petite women appear taller, and yes, that’s one big benefit of wearing a monochromatic outfit. I also like it I because it makes it that much simpler to get dressed in the morning! It’s good to not think about what chooses what, you know?

I’ve been wanting much more monochromatic outfits, so I’m thinking about adding some jumpsuits, like this one by Athleta, to my closet (although I’m not very keen on the having to shimmy in and out of one when I need to visit the lavatory).

4. This easy muffin recipe

Super good and yummy! I made a batch last week with chocolate chips and King Arthur gluten-free flour.

5. MAC Teddy Liner

It’s a classic for a reason. have you ever layered it with MAC Satin Taupe? I did that today, and it was glorious.
